About Me

Most “about me” sections start off with awards and production stats.  With over three decades as a Realtor,  I have all of that and can match up with the best in the business.  However,  I’d rather lead with a more personal approach.  Why?  Because a Realtor/client relationship only works if it is based on trust.  We need to know each other for the transaction to proceed smoothly.  So let me tell you a little about my background.  I will close with the rewards and relevant metrics.

I grew up outside of Philadelphia, went to Drexel University and moved to Northern Virginia after graduation to start a retail career with Hechts Department Store (now Macys).   I was with them for 9 years and held various management positions including spending time as a  buyer, a merchandise manager and even time on the administrative side as an executive recruiter.

When my wife and I moved from our first home, a condo in Falls Church, to a single family home in  Vienna in 1989, I was fascinated by the process and decided to make a career change.  It was a pretty dramatic change going from a structured corporate environment to being self employed but I have never looked back.

My wife and I have raised 2 boys.  One graduated from Ithaca College and is now working in the television industry in LA.  And the other graduated from Lehigh University and is an entrepreneur running hos own business in the travel industry.

Outside of real estate, I have been involved in several charitable endeavors.  Most notably I was board chairman of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia from July 2009 to July 2011.  I have always admired their “hand up not hand out” approach to problem solving.

And, if you spend any time with me, you will soon learn one of my passions is baseball.  I spent 12 years coaching in Vienna Little League as my boys made their way through the organization.  I enjoy attending Nats games and will  catch  minor league and professional games on vacations.  I even play in the Ponce De Leon Baseball League. But I enjoy all sports and have delighted in watching  my boy’s sports endeavors from my older son’s wrestling career to my younger son’s baseball journey.

On to business…

You need to know  little about me but, more importantly, I need to learn about you.  My goal is to see the world through your eyes.  By having an open and candid relationship, I can best understand your dreams and goals and develop the right strategy to get you where you want to go.

I have been a full time Realtor since 1989 and associated with RE/MAX  since 1993.  Over that time, I’ve won many awards…..Lifetime Member of the NVAR Top Producers Club with over 20 straight years as a NVAR top producer…. Member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame , etc.  I have consistently ranked among the top tier of agents within the region and RE/MAX.  But what I am most proud of and most important to you is that over 80% of my business the last few years has come from past clients and referrals.  That can’t happen unless I treat people right and provide a high level of service.

I have always felt that the awards, the production numbers and well, even the income earned, are simply a by product of providing top notch service.   A home purchase or sale is one of the biggest financial transactions in a person’s life.   Every buyer and seller, regardless of price point, deserves first class service, attention to detail and a “no surprises” approach to the transaction.  I strive to deliver beyond expectations in every transaction.  Every client is worthy of such service and, selfishly, if I want to continue to have my business based on repeat business from past clients and referrals, I need to make you so outrageously happy that you are excited to introduce me to your friends, relatives and colleagues.

I work all price ranges and help buyers and sellers of all types from first timer buyers to families moving up.  I do have two special niches.  A healthy percentage of my business is with investors and I also have worked many estate/probate cases.

On the investment side, I work primarily with buy and hold investors but also help those wanting to renovate and resell.  I am one of the few Realtors in the area well versed on how to use a self directed IRA to purchase real estate and have done so myself.

Working with executors requires an extensive knowledge of probate system and the unique set of problems that surface in these types of transactions.   I have strategies in place to minimize disruption and make this part of the estate as stress fee as possible for the executor.

Yes, buying a home is serious and, yes, buying a home can be one of the more stressful life events but  I will do all I can to  take the stress out of the transaction and also make sure we have fun along the way.  Know I will be by your side as your advocate to ensure  you get the best possible results.

I love to talk real estate. Always feel free to contact me any time with any real estate questions.
